Kanye West: Hip Hop Mogul, Fashion Icon ... Gap Intern?
Kanye West is taking his new role as a fashion icon more seriously than we thought. Sure, he recently collaborated with Louis Vuitton to release his collection of $1,140 sneakers, and he also worked free of charge for Raf Simons, but several celebs have pulled off collaborations like those. Now, the hip hop giant is turning his attention to affordable knitwear as an intern at the Gap.

Kanye has reportedly been logging hours in the Gap offices to learn the intricacies of mainstream clothing. A source dished to Us Weekly:
He works all the time, and one Friday night recently, he stayed until 12 am. He's learning the fashion business from the inside and trying to do it quietly.
A rep for Gap confirmed the story to StyleList, claiming, "Kanye's been spending time working in Gap's offices, working with Patrick Robinson, as he's interested in gaining more firsthand experience of the fashion industry."

Kanye did mention he was trying to work on his little ego problem after the South Park "gay fish" episode aired, as he wrote on his blog: "I GOT A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF ME TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE I'M NOT ACTUALLY A HUGE DOUCHE BUT I'M UP FOR THE CHALLENGE."

Walking the walk at Gap headquarters seems like a good place to start.
