Hi,
My name is Charlotte Makala from Tanzania. I am a student in Limkokwing University, Malaysia. I am studying mass media communication at Limkokwing University.
As an African and media student I feel that the more I delve into African media the more I feel a need to promote and publicize it in a global sense. As I venture out into the career world I see myself promoting Africans and enhancing our status as a positive community which has a lot to offer in terms of the arts and entertainment. I long to see a Tanzania with a thriving arts and entertainment industry as well as other industries.
I am writing to you to bring awareness to what Africans and Tanzanians are doing outside of Africa to bring a positive image to our nation. I feel that your blog is the best medium to get this across so I thank you for taking the time to read this. I must also take this opportunity to commend you on your blog. I enjoy catching up with the African community back home and around the globe! GREAT JOB!

I was fortunate enough to have been entered into a student pageant as was selected as a finalist. The pageant is entitled: Miss International Student Malaysia. It is the first of its kind, here in Malaysia.
This contest provides the contestants a chance to for Malaysia to experience them and not the other way round, which I find very interesting. The contestants serve as ambassadors of their country and their university.
In this competition there are 8 out of 16 Africans and 3 Tanzanians. I thought this would be of interest to you on your blog. My purpose is to highlight the positive works of young African women, including myself. I consider myself an ambassador for Africa and will continue to do so throughout my career, but I thought this might interest your viewers in knowing wht their daughters are doing outside of Africa to promote our nation.
