Kanye West to Perform on 'Saturday Night Live'Well this is awkward. Kanye West is scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live on October 2, and hopefully that means we'll get to hear how he reworks the lyrics to "Power" to make it sound like he never had any beef with the show's "whole cast."
When "Power" leaked back in May we learned Kanye wasn't too pleased about the way SNL mocked his interruption of Taylor Swift. To wit: "F--- SNL and the whole cast / Tell 'em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole a-- / More specifically, they can kiss my a--hole."
Maybe Kanye was just venting his frustrations, but hopefully the lyrical dig will be addressed on the show. Of course this was a very predictable reconciliation. (In fact we called it back in May.) Kanye has performed on the show three times previously, and as a New York fixture with a new album and a talent for being at the center of must-see events, this was only a matter of time.
After all, after losing five VMAs in 2007, he claimed he would never appear on MTV again. We all know how that turned out.
For those curious, Bryan Cranston, the Emmy-winning star of Breaking Bad, will be hosting the night Kanye is scheduled to perform.
