Ed Westwick Is 'Really Ready' to Move on from 'Gossip Girl'

Ed Westwick is best known for playing Chuck Bass in the hit TV show and although he has enjoyed the role and is thankful for the opportunity, he yearns to work on something different.

He said: "It's all about the work, you know; the feeling you get when you connect to the work. And that's what I had with Chuck Bass in the beginning – I was fascinated by him. But now, to be completely honest, I'm ready to do something else. Really ready to do something else."

He thinks his latest role in new film Chalet Girl – in which he plays a rich boy called Jonny who falls in love with a chalet girl called Kim, played by Felicity Jones – has provided him with exactly the outlet he was looking for.

He added in an interview with Tatler: "It was refreshing to go from playing an a***hole to playing someone who's a bit more like I am – a nice boy. He has a heart, he has a soul, and he's still figuring out his place in the world."

The heartthrob also opened up his on/off relationship with his Gossip Girl co-star Jessica Szohr and admits it has left him "kind of on the warpath."

He explained: "Everyone's dated each other, and then broken up, or whatever. It's natural that romance would blossom. Blossom and then wilt. The wickedness of women! The heartbreakers, God damn them. I've learnt. And I feel stronger and wiser."
