Lady Gaga to Receive CFDA 'Fashion Icon' Honor.

Lady Gaga is great for business. Not only is she setting records with each new hit single, she's also drawing attention to previously obscure artists and designers every time she heads out in public. Now, the Council of Fashion Designers of America plans to thank Gaga for the exposure she's brought to American fashion, honoring her with the Fashion Icon Award at the upcoming CDFA Fashion Awards in June.

Also winning big is oft-lauded fashion designer Marc Jacobs, who will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg told the press that Jacobs had emailed her earlier, insisting the accolade be renamed the "half-lifetime award." Von Fustenberg joked, "I told him that I'm much older than him and I'm still kicking."
