Vogue.com picked up the People's Voice award for fashion at the 15th Annual Webby Awards, held Monday in New York. Rather than sending a representative from the magazine's online division, the award had an unlikely recipient, Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour herself.
There are no long-winded thank yous at this award show, and acceptance speeches are required to be a total of five words. Anna gave what may be the most memorable of the night—at least to the fashion community. She said:
Sometimes, geek can be chic.
By attending, Anna was certainly showing her support for the digital world. Perhaps this is a sign to look out for more digital offerings from the fashion mag in the future?
