U.S. Vogue Editor Anna Wintour Receives France's Highest Honor.

Anna Wintour, Editor of U.S. Vogue received the medal of Chevalier of the Legion of Honour from France's President Nicolas Sarkozy presents at a ceremony at the Elysee Palace in Paris, July 6, 2011.

The British-born who has held the position of the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine since 1988 was awarded a Chevalier (Knight) of the Order, which was established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802 and signifies the highest order of decoration in France.

Other fashion notables who have received the award include Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani and Valentino. This is the second time Anna's been knighted. She first received the Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth in 2008.
