Whatever the name, you might recall his single "Crank That (Soulja Boy)," which skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 back in 2007. The song made the rapper $7 million according to Forbes, and gave legions of high school girls an excuse to pretend they could dance on YouTube.
But just as we thought Soulja Boy may never make headlines again, news broke of his outrageously expensive birthday purchase. Mere days later, we learned the whole story was one big yarn -- or at least a damn good publicity stunt.
