Thank You Dear God for 2011.

Dear God,

We talk everyday, I tell you what is up constantly and you advice and show me the way.

Today, I wanted to write a special letter. Forgive me if it composes the things you already know. I want to say them again more deeply than I have through out.

2011 was an incredible year for me in all folds of my life. I thank you most sincerely for 2011.

I grew up as a person. I learned to be independent. I did me. You were there to support me I know. I found the courage I needed to have a point of view that was mine and that was original. I stood by it and it worked for me. So, I thus found my voice. A powerful voice that I had, but never used. A voice that I had, but never really believed in, until 2011. Thank you for 2011.

I have dreamed and dreamed Big through out the years because you helped me know that only through dreams can one actually "want" to do something or be somebody. In 2011, I learned the power of not only dreaming but also "believing" in your dreams. Through dreaming and believing, I went for my dreams and achieved them one by one. I am certain that if it pleases you, 2012 will be a year of solidifying my dreams and ambitions and stepping into bolder challenges and a more satisfying existence that first and foremost glorifies your name.

I also learned in 2011 that without a doubt, success only comes through hard work and honesty. Before this, yes, I knew these helped, but like many, I believed that success could come easily if 'in born', or gained through social associations; the politics of 'who knows who' etc. But thank you God for 2011 as now I know, there is no middle way! You work hard, and I mean really hard for what you want/ do and you will surely achieve it. I worked my ass off in 2011; gosh, I really worked hard and I achieved my goals. One by one. I can sit back and say that I have a very rewarding job which I love and can give my all to and ofcourse the rewards from which are amazing. But all this is through hard work and your graces. So thank you again for 2011.

Genuine truth.

Lastly, I learned, without a doubt, that genuine and truthful persons can make it and make it big. I learned in 2011 that it is actually easier to be honest, open and genuine in all that you do and in all your encounters and that its pretty hard work to be otherwise in as much as most people prefer to be otherwise. Success in my encounters and work came pouring out once I discovered that honesty and genuineness pay. Now, I strive to be this in all I do. And if it pleases you 2012 will be a year that genuine truth will rule my being.

So dear God, in 2011 I found my gut feel, my voice; I learned not only to dream but to "believe" in my dreams. I learned that hard work is the only secret to success and ofcourse with all that, being genuine and truthful in all my encounters made me. I am happy to sit back as we close this year and embark on 2012 to say that I made it in 2011. I made it big. With this foundation of learnings, I have bigger dreams now for 2012. I know, I will learn bigger lessons and achieve bigger things and I know for sure, you will be with me throughout like you have always.

Thank you dear God for 2011.

Best R&B Songs 2011.

1. "Motivation" - Kelly Rowland ft. Lil Wayne

Kelly Rowland's solo career hit a high note in 2011 with the release of "Motivation," a Jim Jonsin-produced track that's slinkier and sexier than anything Kelly's BFF Beyoncé has ever recorded. Rowland, who's been living it up across the pond as one of the judges of the UK version of X-Factor, has finally found a direction that works for her: slow-jam baby-making raunch.

2. "Marvin's Room" - Drake ft. Rihanna

We don't really envy Drake's ex-girlfriends, especially if they're subject to the hyper-emotional and occasionally douchey rants that comprise the lyrics of this message to a lost love (there's also that matter of having your phone conversations sampled). But the beauty of this lonely, regretful song is undeniable, even if it's the creepy aural equivalent of a hangover.

3. "Sure Thing" - Miguel

Miguel's first and only song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, "Sure Thing," was actually penned years ago by the singer and his then 12-year-old brother, Jawan Harris. It was originally leaked to YouTube in 2009, but it wasn't until January 2011 that it got an official release—and became one of the biggest R&B single of the year.

4. "Only Wanna Give It to You" - Elle Varner ft. J. Cole

Unless you listen to a lot of R&B, chances are you haven't heard of Elle Varner... yet. The 22-year-old Los Angeles native has a distinctively raspy voice that's perfectly showcased in her upbeat debut single, "Only Wanna Give It to You," which features verses by her former classmate J. Cole. Oh, and she's completely adorable. Watch out for her.

5. "5 O'Clock" - T-Pain ft. Wiz Khalifa and Lily Allen

Autotune enthusiast T-Pain released his most tender song to date with "5 O'Clock," a song that features a heavy sampling of Lily Allen's "Who'd Have Known." Sure, it includes lyrics like "And I know you be getting so horny / Cause you be sending me texts / Like boy just get your ass up in that car," but we're sure we're not the only ones who were touched by his departure from singing about strippers, booze, and taking shirts off.

6. "Play" - Goapele

Kelly Rowland hasn't exactly cornered the market on unapologetic, brazen sexuality. "Play," the second single off Oakland native Goapele's fourth full-length album Break of Dawn, is a understated sensual masterpiece.

7. "Wicked Games" - The Weeknd

Nearly every "Best of" list this year has dedicated at least one spot to Ethiopian Canadian singer-songwriter Abel Tesfaye, a.k.a. The Weeknd, and his nine-song mixtape House of Balloons. This particular track caught the attention of fellow moody Canadian Drake, who tweeted his admiration with a link to his website. Overnight sensations begetting overnight sensations: It's a thing.

8. "That Way" - Wale ft. Jeremih and Rick Ross

There's nothing particularly groundbreaking about this single off Maybach Music Group's collaboration studio album Self Made Vol. 1, which samples Curtis Mayfield's "Give Me Your Love" and Mary J. Blige's "I'm the Only Woman." And yeah, the accompanying music video features slow-mo shots of hot ladies, like just about every other song of like beat. But you never switch the station when this song comes on, now do you?

9. "Party" - Beyonce ft. J. Cole

Beyonce is due for a maternity break pretty soon, which is why she started releasing music videos at breakneck pace soon after she announced her pregnancy. Our favorite was "Party," which makes no effort to downplay its 1980s R&B roots, thanks to its 808 beat and layered vocals. But what's "Swagu"?

10. "Still in Love with You" - Sade

Who would have guessed that Sade would augment its greatest hits collection with a cover of a weepy Thin Lizzy track from 1974? Not we! But like pretty much everything Sade has released since 1984, it makes perfect sense as either a breakup song or a boner jam.
Celebrity Engagement Roundup: 2011 Holiday Edition.

It's the most wonderful time of the year -- for celebrity engagements! So far five star couples have made a pact to walk down the aisle and the week isn't even over. Check out the latest news on the dudes who dished out diamonds over the holidays.

1. Matthew McConaughey

years and two kids later, Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are engaged! The actor popped the question to his model girlfriend on Christmas Day. "Just asked Camila to marry me, #MerryChristmas," he wrote on his Twitter page, along with a picture of the couple kissing by the Christmas tree. No word yet on how big or expensive her sparkler is.

2. John Legend

"Ordinary People" singer John Legend made his trip to tropical paradise with model Chrissy Teigen one neither will forget. He proposed in the Maldives, just days before flying with Teigen to Thailand to spend Christmas with her family. "He went to Jared," Teigen joked on her Twitter page about the proposal, which went down just days before Mr. Legend's 33rd birthday.

3. Steven Tyler

According to his jeweler, Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler is now set to marry his much younger girlfriend of five years, Erin Brady. Ring designer to the stars Loree Rodkin says the 63-year-old popped the question with a 5-carat brilliant cut sparkler while they vacationed in Maui this week. And there are pictures to prove it. The story hasn't been confirmed by the couple quite yet, but rumor has it Tyler's family isn't too pleased with his plans to make the 38-year-old his third wife. She's apparently "mean."

4. Danny Gokey

Now this is a heart-warming tale: American Idol alum Danny Gokey popped the question to his girlfriend over the holidays, three years after losing his wife to a heart condition in 2008. The couple made the engagement announcement on the website of the charity he started in memory his late wife's memory and his rep detailed how it all happened. "After dinner, they went to the ballet, and finally Danny took her where they had their first date," Gokey's rep said. "He serenaded her with 'You Are So Beautiful,' then asked her if she'd marry him." Awww. Gokey and new fiancee Leyicet Peralta aren't wasting any time getting hitched; they plan to marry in late January.

You may not know who Cactus Moser is (or believe that's really someone's name), but that lucky guy just asked for Wynonna Judd's hand in marriage. They've been dating for about two years and the country singer's rep says Moser got down on one knee on Christmas Eve. So far, details about the ring and wedding date have yet to be released. This will be Judd's third marriage.
Best Rap Songs 2011.

1. "Work Out" - J. Cole

Just when you thought you'd never again hear a mainstream rap song that hadn't been adultured by Auto Tune and/or an uninspired techno beat, out comes J. Cole with some serious old school goodness. The track -- which samples Paula Adbdul's 1988 hit "Straight Up" -- has rightfully attracted loads of attention since it was first released on June 27. The 90s-inspired music video currently has over 19 million views on YouTube.

2. "Novacane" - Frank Ocean

While his name may make you think of an early 60s crooner, Frank Ocean's barely old enough to remember life without the Internet. But despite his young age, the 24-year-old rapper sounds like a seasoned vet on this soothing debut single. While every track on his mixtape, nostalgia, Ultra, warrants a listen, it's the radio-friendly "Novacane" that stands out as his most mature and enjoyable song to date.

3. "All of the Lights" - Kanye West

Yes, we realize My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was released over Thanksgiving weekend in 2010. But while nearly 500,000 units were sold in its first week, the album's final single, "All of the Lights" didn't technically get released until January 18, 2011. And following the cliché, Kanye saved his best for last. Featuring the likes of John Legend, Alicia Keys, Fergie, Kid Cudi, Elton John, and of course, Rihanna, you'd think the rapper was trying to recreate his own version of "We Are the World." But no, he just wanted to make one hell of a Grammy-nominated, highly addictive, brass-backed song.

4. "Otis" - Jay Z and Kanye West

When the world first learned Jay Z and Kanye had teamed up to work on an album, expectations were understandably high. And despite the supposed bickering that went down between the two during production, their creative abilities allowed them to create an instant hit. It also landed them a Grammy nomination. No, it's not the greatest work either artist has released, and yes, we wish the song didn't end so abruptly. But yet, we still find ourselves wanting to listen again and again.

5. "I Need a Doctor" - Dr. Dre (ft. Eminem and Skylar Grey)

Peaking at the No. 4 spot on Billboard's Hot 100, "I Need a Doctor" became Dr. Dre's second highest-selling record of all time. Teaming up with his good friend and protege Eminem, the 46-year-old rap legend proved with this pop heavy single that he could still tear up the charts, despite the fact that he hasn't released a full-length album in well over a decade. But if you're still bitter about that fact, just let Skylar Grey's soothing vocals calm you down.

6. "Moment 4 Life" - Nicki Minaj (ft. Drake)

While her lyrics may not always make the most sense, there's something about Nicki Minaj's unique voice that leaves us wanting to hear more. Throw in some sweet flowing rhymes by Drake, and you've got yourself a strangely hypnotic and completely enjoyable track. And seeing as Minaj hails from Trinidad, and Drake speaks Canadian, we can confidently name this the greatest international rap song of the year.

7. "Sorry 4 the Wait" - Lil Wayne

While it's far from his best lyrical effort to date, this incredibly infectious track leaves no doubt Lil Wayne still has plenty left to give. If you're wondering why you haven't heard the song on the radio, it's because a) Weezy never released it as a single, and b) it wasn't included on his recently released LP, Tha Carter IV. If you can manage not to get carpel tunnel hitting the replay button on this acoustic guitar backed, Adele-inspired jam, then you should have no problem staying happy through the holidays.

8. "Till I Get There" - Lupe Fiasco

Despite all the delays and politics surrounding the release of Lupe's third studio album, Lasers, the LP somehow didn't turn out a complete disaster. In fact, taken as a whole, it holds up just fine against his previous work. Though his record label forced the Chicago native to write some dumbed down, radio-friendly tracks, it's songs like "Till I Get There" that remind us why the 29-year-old remains one of the most talented men in the game. As Lupe explains himself: "Yeah I got flaws, I know I'm not perfect. But all ups and downs, will soon be worth it." And worth it, it was.

9. "Headlines" - Drake

We're 45 percent sure if you watch the music video enough times, you will most definitely have a seizure. Thankfully, that won't happen if you simply close your eyes and listen to this song on loop. The first single off his sophomore album Take Care, the track exposes the young rapper's sense of loneliness at the top. But even if he's "overdosed on confident," he's still got plenty of talent in the tank. And while he's a long ways from becoming the next king of rap, "Headlines" certainly has him pointed in the right direction.

10. "Look at Me Now" - Chris Brown (ft. Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne)

While we were hesitant to hand out any sort of accolade to Chris Brown, our love of Weezy and Busta Rhymes helped "Look at Me Now" land the final spot on our list. Besides, the music video has nearly 140 million YouTube views, so we're going to go out on a limb and say you've already heard the track once or twice. Showing off his signature rapid-fire flow, it's Busta that really makes the track so memorable. But you know what? Lil Wayne holds his own just fine.

Princess Di's Iconic Dresses to Go on Display.

Still bummed you missed Kate Middleton's wedding dress display this summer? Well royal aficionados, don't fret. Starting in March, some of Princess Diana's most famous frocks will be shown at Kensington Palace next year. The Diana exhibit will include several dresses that haven't been seen in public since the late icon wore them in the '80s.

The display will include ensembles like the famous ivory Catherine Walker dress she wore in her Vanity Fair photo shoot, the black taffeta gown she wore for her first public appearance as Prince Charles' wife, and a fuchsia sari-style gown worn to a dinner for the King of Thailand. The exhibit also coincides with an $18.8 million renovation to the palace, which was once Di's home.

Palace curator Deirdre Murphy says, "We have carefully selected this collection of exquisite dresses to illustrate to visitors Diana's evolving style and the important role fashion played in creating her public image. Diana promoted designers very well, something that carries on with members of the royal family today."

The exhibit will run from late March through September 2012. Hopefully Queen Elizabeth will find this showing a little less creepy than the last.
Forever 21 to Open in France.

Inarguably, a smart place to try out new trends is on the cheap. And I'll be the first to admit I've fallen prey to the lure of Forever 21's affordable fashions. Still, it was surprising to hear the mega-retailer will soon be opening its doors in France, the home of couture and practically a synonym for high fashion and refined luxury.

The Los Angeles-based company, with 460 stores under its belt, is saying "bonjour" to the French market on January 28. The first store is opening on the outskirts of Paris in Vélizy, but the brand plans to continue its European takeover throughout the country.

It'll be interesting to see how welcoming the French are to the very American brand. Will the inexpensive retailer impact the legendary je ne sais quoi of Parisian style? Doubtful.
First Look: Madonna's Fragrance Ad.

The retro-styled black and white image features two doses of the Her Highness looking uber-sultry with bare cleavage and a dark pout.

The style chameleon is set to launch a full-scale lifestyle brand next year, which will include accessories, footwear, handbags and intimates.

Madonna joins the ranks of celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Paris Hilton who have also tried their hand at fragrances.

10 Most Memorable Fashion Moments Of 2011.

From Pippa Mania to the downfall of John Galliano, 2011 was marked by the beautiful, the strange and of course, the controversial.

Check out the year's most unforgettable moments.

Revlon Anticipates a Colorful New Year.

With Panetone's prediction that Tangerine Tango will be the hot new color of 2012, it looks like the new year will be off to a bold, beautiful start. In addition, Revlon recently launched an ad campaign for ColorStay 16-Hour Eyeshadow, featuring actress Olivia Wilde and showcasing a collection of not-to-be-missed hues.

We are loving the saturated aqua, mint green, amethyst and cobalt shades displayed in the shadow ad. In addition to those intensely pigmented products, Revlon's new ads for ColorBurst Lip Butter feature a bouquet of springtime loveliness. There are lipsticks in shades for every skin tone.

It appears Revlon is all set for a season of bright eyes and lips. We're certain there will be no shortage of other cosmetic companies jumping on board with the vibrant color trend. We can't wait to rush right out and begin experimenting with Revlon's rainbow array of exciting shades and luxurious textures.

Rihanna Stars in the Sexiest Ads of 2011.

A steamy Emporio Armani Underwear ad campaign featuring Rihanna has been voted the sexiest of 2011. Unsurprisingly, the big wigs in the advertising industry agreed the seductive shots, taken by famed photographer Steven Meisel, were the hottest of the year.

Advertising Age magazine stated, "It's Rihanna at her sexiest...she's never looked this good. She's in amazing shape and the pictures are stunning." The steamy photos feature the songstress reclining seductively in the backseat of a car wearing a lacy bra and panty set, strappy sandals, and a cropped platinum wig. Oh, and she also happens to be giving the camera her best come-hither stare.

Rihanna was the clear winner, but there were some serious contenders for sexiest campaign of 2011. Supermodels Miranda Kerr, Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum and Bar Refaeli were all in the running, but that bevy of beauties couldn't beat out RiRi.
Alessandra Ambrosio Walked the Victoria's Secret Show Pregnant.

Alessandra Ambrosio when she hit the Victoria's Secret runway three months after giving birth, but we're now completely dumbstruck by news that she was actually two months pregnant while walking in the most recent show. The 30-year-old model confirmed to US Magazine that she's expecting her second child with longtime fiance Jamie Mazur sharing,

Family is the most important thing for me and I'm thrilled to be adding to the family. I'm fortunate to have a loving and supportive family. It's a blessing that it will soon be growing.
Although her stomach still looked rock hard to us, we now notice the Brazilian beauty's toned tummy was never on full display during the November show. Given her quick metabolism, she should be back to her lingerie clad days in no time. Following the birth of her first child, Alessandra told New York Daily News that she lost the baby weight by "only do yoga once a week or so."
