Forever 21 to Open in France.Inarguably, a smart place to try out new trends is on the cheap. And I'll be the first to admit I've fallen prey to the lure of Forever 21's affordable fashions. Still, it was surprising to hear the mega-retailer will soon be opening its doors in France, the home of couture and practically a synonym for high fashion and refined luxury.
The Los Angeles-based company, with 460 stores under its belt, is saying "bonjour" to the French market on January 28. The first store is opening on the outskirts of Paris in Vélizy, but the brand plans to continue its European takeover throughout the country.
It'll be interesting to see how welcoming the French are to the very American brand. Will the inexpensive retailer impact the legendary je ne sais quoi of Parisian style? Doubtful.
