Victoria Beckham and Alexa Chung Win Big at 2011 British Fashion Awards.

Victoria Beckham, Alexa Chung and Sarah Burton were all big winners at the 2011 British Fashion Awards. Burton won the night's top honor, the Designer of the Year Award. Alexander McQueen's famous successor was competing against designers Christopher Kane and Erdem. The British Fashion Council awarded Burton the top accolade due to her ability to honor McQueen's legacy "while still giving her own twist of creative genius to a collection that has outshone its rivals on and off the catwalk."

Style queen Victoria Beckham, who nabbed the coveted Designer Brand Award, tearfully thanked hubby David Beckham, saying "Without David I wouldn’t have had the courage to do what I am doing."

For the second year running, style darling Alexa Chung received the British Style Award, which goes to the individual that best "embodies the spirit of [London] and is an international ambassador for London as a creative fashion capital." The fashionista graciously accepted the award in an embellished silk satin frock by Christopher Kane, who also won big, taking home the New Establishment Award, which recognizes "a particular movement in British fashion that is taking the industry by storm." Kane's famous fans include Kate Bosworth and Anne Hathaway.

Meanwhile, celebrity favorite Stella McCartney won the Red Carpet Award, who was recognized for the "quality and quantity of her designs worn on the red carpet." Other highlights included the Emerging Talent Award to Mary Katrantzou (Keira Knightley is an avid fan) and the Accessory Designer of the Year Award to Charlotte Dellal for fab footwear label, Charlotte Olympia.
