When Kim Kardashian divorced Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage, many people wondered what the couple would do with the $100,000 worth of wedding gifts they received. Well Kim has finally settled on a way of turning her heartbreak into something more positive.
The reality star, 31, is donating twice the value of her wedding gifts to the Dream Foundation, a "wish-granting organization" for adults with life-threatening illnesses.
Kim let her guests know that their gifts had been put to good use with a special thank you note that read, "I would like to thank you for your generous and thoughtful wedding gift. It has taken me some time to pull everything together but I wanted to let you know that the money for every gift received by me at my wedding has been donated to the Dream Foundation." (via TMZ)
According to the Dream Foundation website, Kim's gift is very much appreciated. "Our dreamers have received a life expectancy of one year or less, and lack the resources to achieve their dreams on their own," the charity's website reads. "While we cannot cure their diseases, we can dramatically impact the quality of their fragile lives with the joy experienced from a dream come true."
