Whitney Houston's Official Cause of Death: Accidental Drowning.

Whitney Houston died on February 11 of accidental drowning, according to the official statement released by the Los Angeles County coroner.

The official report also explains that heart disease and cocaine use were also contributing factors in the singer's death. Sources speculate that it's "very possible" Houston suffered a heart attack that caused her to lose consciousness and drown at the Beverly Hilton Hotel the night before the Grammys. The heart attack could have been brought on by the hardening of arteries, the result of prolonged cocaine use.

There will prescription pills, including Xanax and Ibuprofen, found at the scene, but there was no evidence of cocaine in the hotel room. The coroner's statement said the identified meds in the room "did not contribute to her death."

Despite claims by the late singer's family, the statement said "no trauma or foul play is suspected."

Houston's family released a statement after the coroner's report was release. “We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure," it read.
