Giorgio Armani unveils the Italian Olympic Games 2012 kit.

Ralph Lauren was first (Team USA). Next out of the blocks was Stella McCartney (Team GB). Now Giorgio Armani has become the third final fashion heavyweight competing to design the sleekest possible kit for his nation's athletes at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Unveiling his collection for the Italian squad today at a press conference in Milan, Armani said of his fellow fashion competitors: "I am very honoured to participate with these great colleagues. This will be the most fashionable Olympic Games ever."

Designed under the Emporio Armani EA7 sportswear label, Armani's 50-piece kit collection combines white and midnight blue. Unlike both Lauren and McCartney, he's steered clear of the colours that adorn his nation's flag - the green, red and white of the Italian tricolor - and stuck instead to Italy's traditional competitive hue.
