Pierre Bergé Takes New Role.

WHO’S THE BOSS?: Former Yves Saint Laurent boss Pierre Bergé will lead a new steering committee created by the Maison du Prêt à Porter Féminin et des Accessoires.

Located on the Rue Caumartin in Paris, the Maison was inaugurated in January, an initiative of the Fédération Française du Prêt à Porter Féminin, or French Federation of Women’s Ready-to-Wear, in English. “We wanted to create a physical space to foster dialogue between all fashion and accessories professionals, not only manufacturers but retailers [and] students,” explained Jean-Pierre Mocho, chairman of the rtw body.

The steering committee consists of 19 members including Bergé, ranging from Balenciaga chief executive officer Isabelle Guichot to Borletti Group president and associate director Maurizio Borletti.

The Fédération Française du Prêt à Porter Féminin is a separate entity from the Fédération Française de la Couture du Prêt-à-Porter des Couturiers et des Créateurs de Mode, led by Didier Grumbach.
