Chanel icon Karl Lagerfeld and rapper Kanye West
held court at the Mercer Hotel on Wednesday, talking business over
lunch.
The duo turned heads at the SoHo spot where our spy reports,
“They were in a deep conversation, then later appeared to be getting
devices out to discuss design ideas.”
West had infuriated Lagerfeld, a
regular guest at the hotel, as he and Jay-Z recorded
their album “Watch the Throne” there, causing the Kaiser to complain
about the noise and commotion caused by their entourages.
But Lagerfeld
and West have bonded over their mutual love of fashion, and West
appeared in this year’s “The Little Black Jacket” project, a look at
celebs in Chanel jackets photographed by Lagerfeld.
