Behold the Most Expensive Dress Ever Sold on Net-a-Porter.

Net-a-Porter has never been known for deals, but the high-end e-tailer is pushing price points into the stratosphere with the most expensive ready-to-wear item to ever be sold on the site.

The item in question is a £32,000 Dolce & Gabbana red beaded dress from label's fall runway show (that's a little less than $50,000 American dollars, for anyone keeping track at home).

There are only 12 of them in existence, apparently, and Net-a-Porter has bought six of them to sell on their site. The Guardian reports that the online boutique is "confident" that all will sell. "If we have women in mind for a particular piece then we will go for it and with conviction too.
This Dolce & Gabbana dress has been produced in limited quantities and we have bought half of the world's stock," says Ben Matthews, Net-a-Porter's buying manager. Suddenly, Oscar de la Renta's $2490 baseball jersey is looking like a steal.
