Michael Douglas Receives Standing Ovation at Golden Globe Awards.It seems the best moment of the night was saved for the end of the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday when Michael Douglas upstaged the Best Movie award he was presenting just by taking the stage.
Before he could name the Social Network the year's top winner, Douglas received an extended standing ovation in acknowledgment of his recent battle with throat cancer.
"There's gotta be an easier way to get a standing ovation," Douglas said as he took the podium.
Douglas has been optimistic about his treatment of the disease, and in November he and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones renewed their wedding vows on the tenth anniversary of their marriage.
