John Galliano Suspended!

In a particularly dramatic, troubling turn of international fashion events, John Galliano has been suspended from his job at Christian Dior after having been arrested in a Paris cafe for making anti-Semitic slurs.

Speaking about the incident, Dior president Sidney Toledano said the couture house is dedicated to upholding a zero tolerance policy when it comes to racism, even if the timing is particularly bad.

Before the arrest on Thursday night, the notoriously theatrical Galliano and the Dior fashion house were deep in the process of preparing, and probably finalizing, their fall/winter 2011/2011 RTW collection, set for the runway on March 4.

Are high-stress and long nights to blame for Dior's unacceptable, apparently alcohol-induced behavior?

What we know for sure is that Dior will be without its head couturier of 15 years until a more concrete police investigation is complete (WWD).
