Simon Cowell's Wedding: Still On!Simon Cowell got engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy last Valentine’s Day, but rumors were rife all was not well in their relationship since they had failed to set a date and were spending a lot of time apart.
However, Mezhgan’s mother, Mary, insists everything is good between the pair and they are busy planning their nuptials and will live together full-time when Simon moves to Los Angeles to film The US X Factor.
Mary told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’m very excited about the wedding. It’s on and we’re very happy for them. Simon is a wonderful man.
“He and my daughter will be living in LA when US X Factor starts and we’re looking forward to seeing a lot more of them.”
However, she refused to reveal the actual wedding date, saying: “I really can’t comment but it’s very exciting.”
While Mezhgan’s mother is excited about the nuptials, Simon’s mum Julie revealed last October the couple were having a break from one another and admitted she thought they had rushed into their engagement.
She said: "I think the engagement was too quick. This might give them the break they need to think it through. Marriage is a very, very big step.
"It's a break at the moment. The problem with Simon is that he works so hard.”
When Simon, 51, was recently questioned when he would marry 37-year-old Mezhgan, he squirmed and joked he didn’t want to upstage Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in April.
He said: “I don’t want to overshadow Prince William so they’ve got to go first.”
