Victoria Beckham Announces More Affordable Diffusion Line.

Victoria Beckham is just days away from having her fourth child. But somehow, she's managed to not only release a line of handbags and design a new collection for her namesake brand, she's also launching a diffusion line!

Coming spring 2012, Victoria by Victoria Beckham makes its grand debut. Inspired by cartoon character Emily the Strange, the dresses have a dark, girly side to them. Ironically, Victoria has been working on this project for the entire length of her pregnancy. Perhaps her baby girl has influenced the collection? She says, "This is the most girly collection I’ve ever created."

The dresses she has designed for Victoria have a more voluminous shape than her notoriously slim-cut higher end designs. They have a 60s silhouette with added details like pleats and scallops, all done in vibrant colors. Victoria says:
Where I am currently, I like a more modern attitude. Also, it means that I’m opening these designs to women and girls of all different shapes and sizes, people who maybe want something less tight and clingy and structured. It also makes it more comfortable for during the day. You can wear them with a pair of flats or a pair of heels and they look great.
Victoria by Victoria Beckham isn't cheap—although it's pegged as being more affordable, these are clearly still luxury pieces. Dresses range from $550 to $900, with some with more details will stray into $1300 territory. Rather than debut her line quietly as she did with her first line, Victoria plans to make a big fuss about this one, perhaps something in conjunction with London Fashion Week.

We love Victoria and although her lines are a little out of our reach, we'll be eagerly awaiting their arrival in stores next spring.
