President Barack Obama's Favorite Songs.

Even the President of the United States needs a good pump-up song.

President Barack Obama recently joined Spotify, having already made his presidential mark on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, and of course, Tumblr. He (or one of the cooler interns) also published his first playlist, which will play during his upcoming 2012 campaign events.

The compilation seems divided between the young and hip (Arcade Fire, Florence + the Machine), country Americana (Sugarland, Dierks Bentley), and wholly relateable classics (Earth Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin, Al Green). Some songs were clearly chosen for their messages of peace, love, and equality (No Doubt's "Different People," Ricky Martin's cheese-tastic "The Best Thing About Me Is You"). They are all, of course, overwhelmingly positive. And for some reason there's no rap.

Here's a closer look at the songs that will accompany Obama's 2012 presidential campaign.
